In the Zurich Seefeld, city visitors find a pleasant place of calm in a elegant Art Nouveau villa, which is over 100 years old, with generous, carefully furnished rooms. In its history, the Alma had always connected hospitality with social engagement, today the operators also see themselves in a special way.
Something blooms - hotel with green accents
The house in the Seefeld is one of the Art Nouveau villas that have shaped the district. The alma quotes the floral era in a variety of, not only structurally: climbing plants rank up on the facade, flower ornaments adorn the stair railing, an idyllic rose garden offers a small, quiet oasis with shady arbors to relax in the middle of fragrant flowers and the rooms have names of flowers.
The green facade is considered a model model for sustainable urban design. The windows give a view of the houses of the neighborhood. If you want to keep your eyes wander, you can settle in comfortable seating groups and deck chairs of the roof terrace, which offers a bird free view over the roofs of Zurich on the city, lake and mountains. On the Holzveranda, guests can enjoy the vegetarian breakfast, coffee or an aperitif.
In 2022 the house was reopened completely. Since then, the hotel has been three times sustainable: social, ecological and economical.
Encounter and relaxation rooms
The alma manages rooms beyond the 16 rooms and four studios. The hotel offers numerous feel -good zones that enable both withdrawal and encounter:
In the big lobby, which serves as a living room for the guests, you can drink coffee or take your own dinner yourself. The fully equipped guest kitchen is open to all guests. There are soft drinks from local producers, biological wines and selected spirits are also available at the Honesty Bar.
Special features: social responsibility and ladies-only wellness area
The ALMA is a member of the Top 3 Star Hotels, a cooperation of personally managed 3- and 4-star hotels. In addition, the hotel has been a cooperation partner of the non-profit organization of water for water (WfW) since 2024, which promotes the consumption of tap water for drinking in Switzerland and supports water, hygiene and training projects in Zambia and Mozambique.
The hotel is different, a temporary home, not just a hotel. The Sinn & Winning Hotels that combine economic success combines with social commitment. In addition to the Alma, two more hotels (Hotel Marta and Josephine's Guesthouse for Women) and the Bienvenue Pension in Lausanne will be operated in Lausanne, which will be converted into the new Maison Emilie next year. The Alma is particularly committed to training young women with support needs and offers them a professional perspective. Vulnerable women in challenging life situations benefit from regular part-time positions.
A special highlight is the city-famous ladies-only wellness area that is only available to women-even those who do not stay in the hotel. Here you can relax and calm down. In addition, yoga classes are regularly offered on the roof terrace or in the relaxation room.
Committed to sustainability
The Alma Hotel has been awarded the Level II - Engaged by Switzerland Tourism since December 2022. On the one hand, this confirms sustainable corporate management and also promotes continuous development in terms of sustainability. For 2025, the official "Green Key" certification is sought, with which the hotels will reach level 3 of "Swisstainable".
In the house you rely on "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle" and the use of biological, environmentally friendly products. For example, the former chairs from the breakfast room found a new home in another company. The 20 -year -old bathrooms were found for good and can do their job for a few more years. The new breakfast offer is vegetarian, regional, fair and whenever possible. In the room, guests will find regional care products from Farfalla with many organic ingredients. The greening of the facade contributes to reducing the heating of buildings on heat days, reducing the heat island effect and thus positively influencing the city climate.
